Dmitry Medvedev made his first state visit to Armenia. The Russian leader held talks with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan. Several documents have been signed, including a bilateral treaty extending the lease on the Russian military base in Armenia and an agreement on the construction of nuclear power plant units. Dmitry Medvedev and Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony of the Hill of Honour memorial complex. On the same day the Russian President participated in an informal summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation. The meeting discussed CSTO’s ongoing and planned measures to promote stability in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the creation of an effective crisis response system within the CSTO.

What types of visas are there in Russia

There are following types of Russian visas:
  • Tourist visa
    - Single entry, valid up to 1 month
    - Double entry, valid up to 1 month
  • Business visa
    (Business visa is required in case you wish to enter Russia on business, to work or study in Russia)
    - Single entry, valid up to 3 months
    - Double entry, valid up 3 months
    - Multiple entries, valid for 1 year
  • Working visa

Which documents should I present in Russian consulate to get visa?

The following documents should be submitted to obtain a business visa for Russia:
1. A photocopy of the information pages of your valid passport (showing your name, birth date, passport number, and expiry date) which should be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the expiry date of the visa and has at least one blank page
2. A Russian visa application form completed and signed.
3. 3 recent passport photographs.
4. For a stay exceeding 3 months, or a multiple-entry visa, the results of an HIV test are required.
